As you have noticed, banners for latin-erotica.com have been added in exchange for hosting space. I don't have a problem with this since I know they do have pictures of real mexican amateur girls in their site (two of them from Mexicali.) Apologies if it looks like a sellout. From my perspective it isn't. - EL CHAMUCO |
CHAMUCO:
chah-mOO-coh, n. [Sp. Chamuco, (devil).] Mexican euphemism for devil.
Although the official translation for devil in Spanish is diablo,
CHAMUCO is a more cheerful term coined by the Mexican populace centuries ago
and with less of a "dark" negative stigma.
WHO IS EL CHAMUCO?
That would be me. EL CHAMUCO is my nickname.
WHY "EL CHAMUCO"?
I decided to use the nickname of EL CHAMUCO because, 1)I'm Mexican, 2)It's a
deviant, yet cheerful name, 3)It has a sense of fun.
WHY A PAGE ABOUT PROSTITUTION?
Lets get one thing straight: This site is about INFORMATION on LEGAL prostitution
in Mexico. I am NOT a pimp and I do not wish to become one. I'm just a guy who
collects information on the subject of LEGAL prostitution in Mexico --both,
from experience and from literary research-- and then posts it on the Internet.
There are three main reasons why I decided to make the site.
The first reason has to do with the fact that I read the UseNet newsgroup ALT.SEX.PROSTITUTION.TIJUANA,
and much of the information found in this site is taken from my posts to this
newsgroup--and from posts by other Sires from ASPT. Credit where credit due.
I had been thinking about doing this site for some time, but I never really
got the chance until recently. ASPT is one of the best newsgroups I have ever
found on Usenet; the denizens are polite (except for the usual ocasional troll),
and their information on the Tijuana Prostitution Scene is always honest and
mighty useful.
Often in ASPT an ocassional visitor stumbles upon the newsgroup and asks questions
about prostitution in TJ that had been answered, and discussed at lenght in
the past. Obviously the solution to the problem would be to direct the visitor
towards the newsgroup's FAQ, which is written by SIR
BROCKTON O'TOOLE, veteran patron of the TJ scene and one of the most respectable
of the denizens of ASPT.
Still there are some topics which Sir Brockton's FAQ does not cover extensively,
such as Spanish pronounciation for specific sexual acts, Mexican Law and Custom,
and, for those who want it, information on the MEXICALI prostitution scene.
This site does.
Since I do consider that it would be mighty arrogant of me to post my own FAQ
on ASPT I decided to make this website as some sort of complementary guide to
the information already known in ASPT, or as a reference guide for those who
are new to the TJ and Mexicali scenes or who have questions for the newsgroup
that had already been answered in the past.
My information, as I said before, comes from my personal first hand expercience
and from my literary research on the subject of legal prostitution in Mexico.
I was born in Mexico, I am fluent in Spanish (my first language), and I know
the laws and customs of the place. In other words, I AM qualified to make a
site such as this one.
The second reason behind the making of this site is the fact that I believe
in sexual freedom. By this I do not mean everybody should be screwing everybody
else, but simply that people should be allowed to explore their sexuality, and
those who wish to dedicate themselves to the Sex Trade should be allowed to
do so without legal or social restrictions--but always with a certain degree
of health regulations--and without social stigmas (the way I see it I find the
work of a "supermodel" to be far more degrading than that of a Sex Worker.)
Sex Workers are NOT "whores" or "bitches." They are WORKERS, just like anyone
else, and the vast majority of Mexican Sex Workers dedicate themselves to the
Sex Trade as a way to support themselves and their families. They provide a
valuable service (which is not even available *legally* in most of the United
States) and they are just as human as you and me. It is my firm belief that
the Sex Workers deserve the respect of, both, their patrons and society in general.
And incidently--just in case you're wondering--pimps are rare in Mexico, and
the vast majority of the Sex Workers work on their own, by their own free will,
and with THEIR own rules.
But I digres. Returning to the topic of sexual freedom I also believe that just
as well those who wish to be patrons of the Sex Trade should be able to do so
as long as they do it with respect towards the Sex Workers and responsibility
towards their health and that of the public. My point is very simple: as long
as a person dedicates to the Sex Trade at her or his own free will there is
nothing wrong with it. It's a choice for the person to make and nobody else.
Finally, the third reason behind the making of this site is because I firmly
belive in freedom of information. Information about prostitution is often hard
to come by, and by making a site such as this one I feel I am contribuiting
to the difusion of a type of information that some people with very archaic
views on life in general would like to see banned and damned. To all of them
--specially the ones behind the CDA-- my regards to their moms...
WHERE'S THE PICS?!? WHAT'S WITH THE
CARTOON DEVIL?
As I said before, this is a site about INFORMATION, not about pics. Usually
the typical sex-related website has this goofy "erotic" look with a lot of images
of nude women, rosie-red and pastel colors. WHY? Can't anyone do a site about
sex without turning it into a Penthouse spinoff? Is it THAT difficult to talk
about sex without cliches?
(admittedly,
though, space for this site is now provided by a latin adult website. So if
you're looking for pics, well, there
you have them. The serious sex talk still is here.)
With these thoughts in mind I decided to make this site with a "comfortable-yet-sober"
look just to prove that sexual topics CAN be addressed without the need for
turning the webpage into an adult magazine look-alike. Sex is a perfectly normal
issue, and by "sobering up" this webapge I'm merely trying to say that.
Like I said at the beginning, the term CHAMUCO is a cheerful, fun way
to call the devil in Mexico--and therefore a cool way to show deviancy without
getting too much of a bad rap. Thus I thought I'd put the cartoon devil as a
fun, cheerful reminder of what CHAMUCO stands for, and as an image for
the readers to identify me with. The one thing I would NOT like would be to
be thought of as some creepy guy sat on his computer in just a raincoat. That's
all there is to it.
WAYS TO CONTACT EL CHAMUCO:
The first one is by visiting my FEEDBACK PAGE, where
you'll find complete instructions on how to contact me.
The second one is by droping by ALT.SEX.PROSTITUTION.TIJUANA on UseNet and leave
a message there. I will have to ask you to keep your messages ON TOPIC if you
wish to contact me through ASPT (don't ask me questions about technical aspects
of my webpage or anything non related to the issue of prostitution in Mexico
if you are going to post to the newsgroup). Go to my ASPT
PAGE for more details on ASPT's netiquette and guidelines.
I Hope you enjoy the website--or at least you PRETEND you did...
